App Terms
These terms govern your use of the Business Central apps published by Smarter Apps Ltd. Installing an app means you accept them. If you do not, do not install it.
Licence
Apps we publish on Microsoft AppSource are supplied free of charge. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use them in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environments operated by your organisation, for your own business purposes, for as long as these terms are observed.
Apps supplied outside AppSource are covered by the agreement under which they were supplied, and where that agreement and these terms differ, that agreement wins.
What you may not do
- Resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute an app, or make it available to anyone outside your organisation.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code, except where law gives you that right despite a term to the contrary.
- Remove or obscure any notice of ownership.
- Use an app to build a competing product.
We own the apps and everything in them. Nothing here transfers ownership to you.
Your AI service
Some apps use an AI service that sits outside Business Central. You choose the provider, you hold the account and the provider bills you directly. That charge has nothing to do with us.
Your use of that service is governed by your agreement with that provider. We do not provide the service, we do not resell access to it and we do not receive or process what is sent to it. If the service is unavailable, rate limited or withdrawn, the app cannot function and that is outside our control.
The privacy policy sets out exactly what is sent and what is not.
No warranty
The apps are supplied as they are. We do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for any particular purpose, and we make no promise about the accuracy of anything an AI service produces through them.
Not professional advice
Output produced by our apps is a proposal for you to review, not a finished answer. A chart of accounts, a posting setup, a set of opening balances or a dimension correction should be checked by someone in your business who is qualified to judge it, before you accept it.
Nothing our apps produce is accounting, tax or legal advice, and nothing they produce is a statement that a result complies with any particular reporting framework or with your statutory obligations. Those remain yours.
Liability
The apps on AppSource are supplied free of charge, and our liability is limited accordingly. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill or anticipated saving, or for any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of an app.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
You are responsible for keeping backups and for testing in a sandbox before you use an app against live data. Some actions our apps offer cannot be undone, and each is marked as such where it appears.
Support and updates
Support is provided as described on our support page. We do not commit to a resolution time unless a separate support agreement says otherwise.
We maintain the apps against Microsoft's Business Central releases. We may change, improve or withdraw an app, and where we withdraw one we will say so on the marketplace listing.
Ending the licence
You may end the licence at any time by uninstalling the app. We may end it if these terms are breached. Anything the app has already created in your company is yours and stays there.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
